Asian Beef Salad

Ingredients

For 150ml Sesame dressing, divided

1 tsp crushed garlic 

1 tsp finely grated fresh ginger 

2 tsp sugar 

2 tsp rice vinegar or white wine vinegar 

2 tbsp soy sauce 

2 tbsp lemon juice 

1 tbsp sesame oil 

4 tbsp groundnut oil or light olive oil 

225g (8oz) skirt or rump steak

 salt and freshly ground black pepper

300g (11oz) shredded cabbage

300g (11oz) broccoli, in small pieces

300g (11oz) DOLE Mandarins in syrup , drained, reserve 2 tablespoons syrup (out of 695g jar)

75g (3oz) spring onions, chopped

2tbsp fresh coriander, chopped

30ml (2tbsp) lime juice

1tsp toasted sesame seeds

Instructions

Whisk  all the ingredients for the sesame dressing together, and divide.

Season  steak with salt and pepper and brush with half of the sesame dressing.  Grill for 4 to 5 minutes on each side or until cooked as liked. Let steak rest for 5 minutes then thinly slice, diagonally.

Combine  cabbage, broccoli, steak, mandarin oranges, onions and coriander in large bowl.  Add remaining sesame dressing, lime juice and reserved mandarin syrup; toss well.  Arrange on plates and sprinkle with sesame seeds.
